Anton Arnsteiner founded BLIZZARD in 1945 out of his carpenter's shop, after having returned to Mittersill from the Second World War with multiple wounds. In addition to making furniture and other wood handicraft, he also made skis, which despite the economic situation at the time, quickly became the company's most successful product. Arnsteiner belongs to that group of Austrian industrial pioneers who contributed considerably to the economic development in Austria at the end of the Second World War.
